Tweet of the Day -November 30, 2008 #twod
Today we pause to honor Jason Crouch on two accomplishments:
jasoncrouch TWEET #5000 (a haiku): I like Twitter now. I didn’t get it at first. No one does, it seems.
I have known Jason for several months through a Real Estate blog site called Active Rain where we both blog regularly.
Jason is a real estate agent from Austin, Texas. An amazing thing is that while he Tweeted his 5000th today he also reached 400,000 points on Active Rain. Considering I have been on AR for about a year longer than Jason and have not reached 200,000 that says a lot. But why is Jason so prolific on the social media portion of the web? Is it because he doesn’t really have a job? No. Is it because he is lazy and doesn’t want to work? Oh no- in fact you try blogging that much and see how much work it is.
It is because Jason has chosen the new media route to selling your homes, finding homes for buyers and making his business and service offerings globally recognizable. Do yourself a favor: Visit his AR blog, follw him on Twitter @jasoncrouch and give him a call for your Texas real estate needs.

Are you missing the point of Tweet of the Day?
It’s all about just another chance for a search engine result to find you. Like kind, like posts, like results. Tweet of the Day is an experiment and not a lifetime guarantee. Tweet of the Day -November 29, 2008 #twod
From the “Can you publish that on Twitter” category:
JonWashburn When working in an entrepreurial organization you are seen by the world as a f*ing moron until the moment that you are seen as a genius.
From the “I’m pretty sure I know what you mean” category:
KrisTalk Is the internet running with the parking brake on tonight or is it just me?
From the “old jokes are still funny” category:
JackBastide Police were called to a day care where a three-year-old was resisting a rest.
And from the “It wasn’t me” category:
Ines @ElaineHanson it wasn’t me, it was @tcar
Ines and tcar turning up again and this time both in the same Tweet … hmmmmm.
Why bother with Tweet of the Day and Twitterbits? Many reasons but most importantly is one more chance for Google, Yahoo, MSN or other search engines to find you. Additionally, beginning January 2009, each top listed Tweet of the Day will come with a biographical post separate from the Tweets of the Day post for even more search juice.
To nominate one of your own tweets or the tweet of another RT or DM @thekencook or post as a reply to any Tweet of the Day here on Twitterbits.

Short one on the night after Thanksgiving. Still visiting with family and relaxing. Thankful, very thankful, for good friends of whose friendship I am really not worthy. A blip to Marty and Kim. Thanks guys, from our hearts.
From the TMI category (and thanks for the graphic):

Cramer: Possibly the Most Realistic Portayal (King of the Hill episode)
Jim Cramer – you are loud and exciting. My wife forbids me to watch you because I shout “idiot” too many times per second. In fact we call it the CITPS effect (Cramer Idiot Times Per Second). However, I must hand it to you: a realistic portrayal of you has made it to a prime time cartoon -which since “your” episode has been canceled. Hmmmm…
But wait … before we all get too excited this is more a realistic view of the hopes and dreams of the American public and how they (ergo we) get caught up “in it all”.
No Tweet of the Day Today #twod Thanksgiving
Instead of taking the hour or so it normally requires to review hundreds, maybe thousands, of tweets I am going to do some less time consuming things and enjoy this fire with my wife. My son home to visit for the second time this year sound asleep upstairs and my sister-in-law from Alaska on the phone.
I hope you all had a FANTASTIC day for Thanksgiving even if you do not celebrate it. We had a wonderful time with 3 of my four sisters, 3 nephews (none of the nieces made it this year) and some great memories of our parents. Mom went home one year ago next week at 83.
If your mom is still around -be nice to her. Even if she’s a little rough around the edges be nice. Mine was truly and angel and I had to get chrome colored hair to realize it. What a foolish young man I was.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING Y’ALL from Atlanta Georgia -USA!

From the Truth Spoken -1 out of 3 people “Social Media Experts?”
jrdorkin I’m baffled by how many people now use the job title of “Social Media Guru” . . . what exactly does that mean? What qualifies someone?
From the, Uhm, not me maybe I dunno category:
JackBastide OK … So how many of you have bought a Sham Wow? C’mon be honest
From the “Oh man, I don’t know if I would have told that” category:
Thingsall2good uh-oh…wine bottle is almost empty…… and im the only one drinking wine..
Okay – two things:
1. You can now use #twod to make humorous or enlightening Tweets and alert me to them.
2. Starting in January the Twitterbits blog will also be doing a more intensive report on the Tweeter chosen for the top listing -meaning the first one you read. Since Tweets are announced near midnight the “Spotlight” will appear on Twitterbits the following day. Selectees will be DM’d or otherwise contacted and permitted to submit their own auto-biographical article. If the selectee does not reply by 10PM on the date of publication a web research article will be posted.
The only reason Twitterbits and Tweet of the Day is here is to provide more search juice to you and me.
To nominate for Tweet of the Day RT or DM @thekencook or post as a reply to any previous Tweet here on Twitterbits.
Leap Frog? See how fast you get it …
My wife got me started on this. I did it fairly quickly but not quickly enough to tell the time. It was minutes, not seconds or hours. Give it a try!
